I’m sure many of you thought up some doozies over Valentine’s Day regarding sweet, sweet revenge against your cheating spouse/partner. Well, the man in this video turned his Valentine revenge daydreaming into reality when he filled his cheating wife’s beloved convertible with horse manure after finding her “secret” online profile.

Well, this was soooo funny, and while I can certainly relate to the betrayed husband’s sentiments, let me hasten to add that there are much more subtle and effective ways of effecting the same results. All revenge statements should of course be legal; the less overt and more focused they are upon the peculiar preferences of the betraying spouse, the more effective they are. There is, I think, a fine artistry to this skill: the effect sought should be one that third parties (like the police, the children, and the divorce judge) will find to be less than mean-spirited, and there should be a certain element of ambiguity involved, too (for example, “I am SOOO sorry I accidentally washed my red socks with your white linen shirt. Maybe I can get you another one for your anniversary present this year.”)
My personal favorite revenge act was actually quite accidental, an act of God and my husband’s usual disorganization: he took out of the back of the kitchen drawer the toothbrush I used to scrub the kitty box and the kitchen baseboards, and this was what he put into his overnight kit for his trysts with the other woman. I do hope he tried to practice effective oral hygiene every chance he could!
The horse manure fails my standards for optimal calculated revenge, but it WAS hilarious.

THIS one I loved. Hilarious!! What a bag his wife is. I loved that he actually showed the dating site first because that got us more involved in the story. I wonder if he got in trouble for this. I hope not. Being married it could be community property.
Once when my husband was particularly being an ass to me, I told him I wasn’t going to make his sandwich for work. I’ve made his lunches for him for 20 years. He DEMANDED I make one. So I did …… but I spit inside of the sandwich so he had a tuna salad SPIT sandwich that morning. He had no idea. Boy, did that feel good (in the moment anyway).

I agree with Nell. Subtle is the key. I hadn’t realized until I read Nell’s toothbrush story that I also have exacted some revenge. During my husbands infidelity he suddenly insisted he needed his own exclusive vehicle. We had two cars but the kids were driving one and my husband was previously able to bike to work. While it seemed odd I ignored the obvious and did all the financial leg work to buy him a used car. He was in such a rush to have this car,to see his paramour, that he bought the first one he drove at night from a dealer he knew nothing about. I cautioned him about making every mistake in the book but he insisted. The car immediatly began falling apart. Now five years later he is still driving it in 90 degree weather without AC or fan. The roof leaks in every rain and all the cabin electrical malfunctions. Sorry honey we just can’t afford to replace it yet…..

Hmmmm…sweeeeet! I have to applaud the man. There is lots of anger when confronting the infidelity and betrayal by a spouse. What to do with the rage is always a question to address. I know that nothing I could do to him would make me feel one iota better though. Better to see him for who he is…tell him thanks for the enlightenment into your charcter, I’ve often wondered about that. And thanks to you enlightening me…now, I know how to treat you. If you’ve been following the advice to “do unto others as you’d have them do unto you” then you know exactly what to expect. I assume that since you’ve done this to me…it is what you expect…isn’t it?
